Hey Everyone,
Tomorrow night we have our final meeting before our Car Show! I hope everyone that can make it DOES make it!!! We will be talking about what has been done so far and what needs to be taken care of before the show. I want to be able to assign out some jobs for the day of the show so I don’t have to worry about everything. I am looking for a couple of portable tents or canopys. we might be setting up a misting booth to cool down in if Valley will let us hook up the water supply. I’ll know more tomorrow. Anyways, we’ll be meeting at Atomic Coffee Downtown again. It’s quiet and there is ample room for all of us.
Please do attend if you can. We really need everyone on board if we want to keep this show going year after year.

This cruise always seems to be the one that really gets our season off and running. Every year the group meets in Moorhead and takes a great cruise to Detroit Lakes, MN down Highway 10 where we are hosted by club members Fred and Chris. This year will be a bit different as some things have come up for Fred. We will be taking a throw back to the first DL cruise and will be heading over to Zorbaz for great food and fun.
The club meets at the McDonald’s in Moorhead on Highway 10 between 10:00 and 10:30 AM. At 10:30 the all who are present line and and we fweem our way out of town.

It’s back…Volkswagens in the Valley 2009. We hope you can join us. Please download the registration form and get signed up for the Fargo-Moorhead’s best and only car show geared to vintage air-cooled and water-cooled VWs.
Day One - Friday, July 24th ~ 5:30 to 8:30pm
Friday night we have a informal BBQ Meet and Greet with food provided for all by the Red River VW Club. The BBQ takes place in Fargo’s Lindenwood Park which is located directly off I-94 via University Drive (Downtown exit). Some VWs in the Valley attendees have stayed in the park since there are camping facilities available. So, come on out and enjoy a relaxing time talking and getting to know us! Hope to see you there.
Day Two - Saturday, July 25th ~ 10:00am to 3:00pm
Hey, wake up! Enjoy the morning sunshine (yes, we are that optimistic). Grab a bite to each at any of the great dining experiences Fargo-Moorhead has to offer and head on over to Valley Imports in Fargo, ND. Located just off I-29 and slightly off I-94, Valley Imports is gracious enough to clear space for you to bring our your favorite Volkswagen and show it off in our show for just $10 for one or $15 for two VWs. If you don’t have a VW, come check out what we are all about…and more than likely somebody will have a lead on one so you can join us with your very own next year. Free food, soda, and water are provided by Valley Imports. Since the food is free, why not bring a few non-perishable food items to cram into a Beetle. All collected items will be donated to the local food pantry. After a beautiful day of VWs and sun (yes, still staying positive), we will hand out a awards for People’s Choice and a few others. All day long, we will be calling out names for door prizes as well. Fweem!

As part of a trip to visit and support RRVWC club members in and at the Prime Steel Car Show, the monthly meeting will be taking place in East Grand Forks, MN this month. Last year the club met at the same place and had a nice time driving up to the show and having a meeting and some great food at the Blue Moose. To attend this meeting, RRVWC members will be meeting in Fargo, ND at the Burger King on 19th Ave N. near Fargodome and plan on leaving around 10:30 AM driving directly to the Blue Moose. January 26, 2009 - 1 PM @ The Fryin’ Pan in Fargo, ND
Come join us for good food and conversation. Our holiday party is a time to relax and talk about the year’s events for the club. The Fryin’ Pan has a wide variety of menu items and beverages ranging from breakfast foods (24 hours a day) all the way up to burgers and salads. Please feel free to bring friends or family members. We will be working to get the new newsletter our as soon as possible and are also reminding that the party is a good time of year to pay your annual dues. The usual “gift exchange” will be taking place for all those who wish to participate with gifts under $10. This is a great opportunity to get rid of that toy VW you didn’t really want or need…ha!
